How is it that we blame ourselves for things that aren’t even in our control? We criticize ourselves for things we’ve said or done, fully aware that we would never treat another so harshly. This new workshop will focus on the importance of self-compassion—being kinder to and less judgmental of ourselves. In a trusting, safe space, we will engage in interactive discussion, activities and expressive writing.

I hope you will join me in this one-time, 90-minute workshop, where we will: 

  • learn about the science of compassion and its vast and profound benefits
  • use tools and practices to instill care and understanding in our daily lives
  • explore Kristen Neff’s three components of self-compassion: kindness, sense of common humanity, and mindfulness
  • share expressions of compassion, which will include some writing from journal prompts
