Companion, yes. Exercise partner, big time. Cuddles, always. These are the more obvious benefits of dog ownership. But after doing some research, I learned about a number of scientific studies that are finding how dogs can truly add to our well-being. My article, “How Dogs Drive Wellbeing,” is now up on the Psychology Today website.

This coming July, I’ll be offering a two-hour workshop, Peace, Positivity & Purpose: The Strategies and Science of Cultivating Happiness, at the Scarsdale Adult School. In this interactive workshop, we’ll discuss the basic concepts of positive psychology, and uncover an array of tools and practices to help you build a fuller life with greater positivity and resilience, increased use of your strengths, and healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Thanks to the American Camp Association for inviting me to present about, “Peace + Positivity: Tools for Mindfulness and Cultivating Happiness for You (and Your Campers)” at the 2018 Tri-State Camp Conference for the second year in a row. It’s always inspiring to connect with camp owners and directors and see how hard they work to bring positive experiences to campers of all ages.

I am delighted and proud to announce that Drinking Diaries: Women Serve Their Stories Straight (Seal Press), a groundbreaking collection of essays written by 23 women, has been translated and published in German.
